Excess Baggage and Unaccompanied Baggage
If one considers using Jupiter's Unaccompanied Baggage Service (UBS), significant savings can be enjoyed compared to the premiums paid for excess baggage charges.
For example, to send a 30kg suitcase from Sydney to London would cost around $30.00 per kilogram as excess baggage, but only around $11.55/kg if sent as unaccompanied baggage. While there are some additional handling costs payable at your origin and destination, unaccompanied baggage is invariably far less expensive than excess baggage rates, as this price comparison shows.

As well as Jupiter's fast, reliable and economical
service for passengers choosing to use Jupiter's unacompanied baggage services, optional services offered include:
- Custom clearance
- Collection from home or hotel
- Insurance
- Delivery at destination (if required).
All these services are designed to ease a customer’s anxiety of not knowing when and how their personal effects will arrive at their destinations. Furthermore, unaccompanied baggage is sent on a ‘space available’ basis, enabling Jupiter to offer specially discounted rates.
If you require your unaccompanied baggage to be available for collection upon your arrival, we recommend baggage be sent two or three days prior to your departure. However, this may vary according to your destination, so please contact your local Jupiter office for more details.
We currently operate UBS counters at the international terminals in Sydney and Melbourne. The service is also available in Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Nadi and Auckland through our local offices, located close to the international airport terminals.
